Gary Johnson At 6% In PPP Arizona Poll 5-17-16

Not a bad showing at all by Gary. What's even more encouraging is that he stronger with Independents and moderates while being consistent at 5-7% across age, sex and gender lines.
The Presidential election is pretty competitive in Arizona at this point. Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton just 40-38, with Gary Johnson at 6% and Jill Stein at 2%. There's a significant 'Never Trump' contingent among Arizona Republicans. While Clinton gets 80% of the Democratic vote, Trump is only getting 68% of the GOP vote at this stage. That number tracks with our finding that just 65% of Republicans say they're comfortable with Trump as their nominee to 22% who say they aren't. When you narrow the field to just Clinton and Trump though, Trump's lead goes up to 45/41 because his share of the GOP vote increases to 77%. 15% of Republicans are undecided compared to 8% of Democrats, so if the party really unites around Trump eventually he'll get close to being up by the kind of margins Republicans are accustomed to in the state but for now it's tight.

Gary Johnson at 4% in new PPP poll 5-10-16

It's not quite the 11% that the Monmouth poll in March had Gary at but it's a start. It should be noted that the Monmouth poll was 36% I - 34% D - 30% R where PPP is 43% D - 36% R - 21% I.
PPP's new national poll finds that Republicans have quickly unified around Donald Trump, making the Presidential race more competitive than it has previously been perceived to be.

Hillary Clinton leads Trump 42-38, with Libertarian Gary Johnson at 4% and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 2%. In a match up just between Clinton and Trump, her lead expands to 47-41. That's because supporters of Johnson and Stein would prefer her over Trump 36-18. Although there's been a lot of talk about third party candidates drawing support away from Trump, they're actually taking a little bit more from Clinton at this point.

PPP Colorado August Poll Has Gary Johnson At 6%

Nice to see that Gary Johnson is still holding steady in Colorado in the latest PPP Poll of the state.

Q. If the candidates for President this year were
Democrat Barack Obama, Republican Mitt
Romney, and Libertarian Gary Johnson, who
would you vote for?

Barack Obama.... 46%
Mitt Romney..... 42%
Gary Johnson..... 6%
Undecided........ 7%

What's even more encouraging is that the former New Mexico Governor's favorability rating is up 3 points from June while his unfavorability is down 3, with 79% of those polled still having no opinion of him.

Once the summer ends and people start to focus more on the election, look for Gov Johnson's numbers begin to rise in the Centennial State, especially given the popularity of the Colorado Marijuana Legalization Initiative, 61% in the latest poll, and Gary Johnson's pro-legalization position.

Let's hope it's a Rocky Mountain high for Gary Johnson on election night

Gary Johnson At 13% In PPP New Mexico Poll 7/18

PPP

If the candidates for President this year were
Democrat Barack Obama, Republican Mitt
Romney, and Libertarian Gary Johnson, who
would you vote for?

Barack Obama....42%
Mitt Romney.... 38%
Gary Johnson... 13%
Undecided....... 6%

The bad news first, Gary Johnson is down 2% in his home state from April and is losing support among Democrats (-2%) and Republicans (-5%) over the same period. (Surprising aside, Romney has gained 10% with Democrat when Johnson is included and 9% when he is not. This has got to worry Barry and his minions a LOT).

The good news however is that the Former New Mexico Governor gained 1% with Independents to 24% and his favorability is up 2% while his negative is down 2%. In this measure, Democrats and Independents are basically unchanged from how they felt about Gary Johnson in April but his positive among Republicans is up 6 to 44% while his negative is down 7 to 34%.

For now Gary Johnson can be happy with this poll's results. A slight misstep by one or both of this opponents could result in a big jump in his numbers in New Mexico.

Gary Johnson At 15% In New Mexico And 8% In Montana

There is an expectation that Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson will be strong in the western states and two recent PPP Polls bear that out.

In the April 25 New Mexico Poll, the state's former two-term Governor polls at 15%.

Barack Obama... 48%
Mitt Romney.... 35%
Gary Johnson... 15%
Undecided....... 2%

It should come as no surprise that the Libertarian Johnson is strongest among Independents with 23% and closely followed with 20% Republicans. He is only getting 10% support from Democrats.

In the most recent PPP release, Montana on May 2, Gov Johnson is polling at 8% against his rivals, with another strong showing among Independents at 15%.

Mitt Romney.... 43%
Barack Obama... 41%
Gary Johnson.... 8%
Undecided....... 7%

While both polls, along with PPP's most recent national poll, show that Gary Johnson has some serious ground to make up, keep in mind that he has low name recognition and been running on a small budget thus far. Now, his status as Libertarian Party nominee should open up more doors, and donors, which will hopefully elevate his status in the polls to over 15% and earn him a spot on the debate stage with his Republiocrat rivals.

The battle begins with a strong showing in the West with Independents being the key.

Gary Johnson At 6% Against Obama/Romney In Latest PPP Poll

Gary Johnson may be down a point from last month but his favorability rating has jumped 2 points to 6% and his unfavorability has dropped 3 points to 19%, with 75% still unsure.

Romney may be seeing a bump now that he has basically sown up the GOP nomination but as Reagan biographer Craig Shirley puts it, "conservatives will seriously consider walking away and looking at the candidacy of Gary Johnson."

I would also expect to Ron Paul supporters get over their sour grapes and come to their senses to back a Johnson candidacy once the GOP race is officially over. Paul's backers need to come to the realization that it is about the message, not the messenger, and that Gary Johnson best represents the limited-government, individual-liberty ideals that Dr Paul espouses.

Ron Paul's supporters need to remember that prior to his running, the Texas Congressman went as far as saying that he’d “most likely” throw his weight behind Johnson, stating “I can’t imagine endorsing anybody else” if he didn't enter the race.

I urge those of you in the Paul camp to get behind Gary Johnson. With your help we can push the former two-term New Mexico Governor over the FEC's arbitrary 15% bar to get on the debate stage against Barry and Mitt.

There is a choice this time around if we have any hopes of stopping Leviathan.

If you are a conservative, libertarian or independent who is considering voting for Romney solely because he is the lesser of two evils; just remember, you are still voting for an evil.

Tell PPP To Include Gary Johnson In GOP Polls

Public Policy Polling (PPP) has removed Sarah Palin from their 2012 GOP polls and is asking for suggestions on who, if anyone, should replace her.

Please let them know via Twitter, at @ppppolls, that former NM Governor Gary Johnson deserves to be included in their GOP polls.

Not only is Governor Johnson, a 2 term governor who vetoed 750 spending bills and left the state with a budget surplus, a legitimate candidate for President in 2012 but he has been polling better than Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman in polls that he has been included in and also within 1 percentage point of Herman Cain.

It is not up to the media and polling organizations to determine who should be in the race and by excluding people such as Gov Johnson and Rep McCotter from polls and debates, they are taking on the role of kingmakers and taking the choice away from you and I.
