Got Jobs? Johnson, Romney, Obama

Jobs are the top issue on the minds of many Americans so what are the front runner candidates records on jobs for their respective parties?

Charles Lupton created a nice job growth graphic for the POTUS candidates with executive experience.

Charles Lupton write:
Percent Job Growth Under POTUS Candidates (Note: I used fiscal years Sept 09' - Sept 11' for Barrack Obama otherwise he would be negative starting from Jan 09' - Jan 11'). This data is seasonally adjusted data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

P.S. I created the graphic and release it to the public domain. I'm not a professional and incurred no cost in it's creation so feel free to use it without charge.

  1. Why was Ron Paul left out?

    1. This is an executive (president, governor) comparison. It would be impossible to quantify job growth under Ron Paul, as he's held no executive positions and therefore had no significant impact on jobs.

  2. I'm hoping Paul can pull out a GOP, but it seems unlikely. So this is for the most likely candidates for president in November.

    1. Still no way to accurately reflect RP's impact on jobs, considering the theoretical effect on national job growth that a single congressman can have. Thus, the impact would be quite negligent unless you count influence.

  3. Gary Johnson on jobs:

► “The fact is, I can unequivocally say that I did not create a single job while I was governor,”

► “We are proud of this distinction. We had a 11.6 percent job growth that occurred during our two terms in office. But the headlines that accompanied that report – referring to governors, including me, as ‘job creators’ – were just wrong.”

►“we kept government in check, the budget balanced, and the path to growth clear of unnecessary regulatory obstacles.”

► “My priority was to get government out of the way, keep it out of the way, and allow hard-working New Mexicans, entrepreneurs and businesses to fulfill their potential,”

"Summarizing: Gary doesn’t accept the fallacy that job creation is something that the government can do." -Rui Nobre Pinheiro
